Whereas a considerable amount of academic research* has been undertaken and utilised to create the Cost Calculator, the Cost Calculator is a “ready reckoner” only and as such is merely an indication of the costs which may be saved based on the data supplied. The results of the calculation are not an exact statement of the savings any particular entity may make because an exact calculation will require a detailed analysis of each entity’s particular circumstances. For example, the results for a company whose employees are in a high risk sector such as airport baggage handlers will differ greatly from those of a company whose workforce is sedentary and that workforce is constantly monitored, offered private healthcare insurance and has a daily exercise regime.
